I'm a freelance editor. I'm very thorough; I edit, then re-edit, and then give it a one final edit. I like to form a relationship with the author. Every book isn't just another job to be done for me. Books are my passion so I actually care about the book. I have no problem going over a chapter again if the author needs me to. Eventually, passion can take you anywhere you want, right?
I have some rules that I like to work with, so let's take a look:
-My job isn't to change your writing or remove your personality from your book, after all, it's YOUR book, so don't ever allow anybody to remove YOU from YOUR book.
-My job is to polish your writing and make it clearer and in its best possible shape.
-I hate being formal with clients, I like to talk and discuss the book stuff with the author.
-I'm always available to answer questions and happily apply the changes that you want.
-Everything I suggest is just a "suggestion". You are the boss! You are paying me to offer you suggestions, but at the end, you are free to accept or refuse them.
